Conditions We Treat

Acidity & Constipation

Understanding the condition

Burning after meals, sour risings, night reflux, and the heaviness of sluggish bowels — acidity and constipation are among the most medicated complaints in India, with antacids and laxatives taken for years while the underlying digestion stays uncorrected.

Common presentations

  • Burning in the chest or throat after food
  • Sour or bitter risings, especially at night
  • Bloating and fullness with small meals
  • Hard, unsatisfying, or infrequent stools
  • Dependence on antacids or laxatives

The classical homeopathic approach

Constitutional treatment addresses why your digestion under- or over-performs: eating pace and pattern, stress load, sleep timing, and your individual reactivity. The aim is a gut that empties and moves on its own rhythm — allowing antacids and laxatives to become occasional rather than daily.

Commonly indicated remedies

These are a few of the remedies frequently considered in Acidity & Constipation cases, with their classic indications from the homeopathic materia medica:

  • Nux vomica — Heartburn and sour risings from overwork, spice, and stimulants; constant urging with unsatisfying stool.
  • Robinia — Intense burning acidity with sour eructations and vomiting, markedly worse at night on lying down.
  • Natrum phosphoricum — Sour risings, sour vomiting, and a creamy yellow-coated tongue; acidity with every meal.
  • Carbo vegetabilis — Fullness and gas within minutes of eating; everything turns to wind; relief from belching.
  • Bryonia alba — Large, dry, hard stools with general dryness and thirst for long drinks; worse from motion.
  • Alumina — No urge for days; even a soft stool needs great straining; worse from artificial and dry foods.

Important: these are examples for education, not a menu to choose from. In classical homeopathy the right remedy — and its potency and dose — depends on your complete individual case, which is exactly what the consultation determines. Please do not self-prescribe.

What treatment looks like at the clinic

Long-standing reflux with warning signs is referred for scoping first. Otherwise, treatment pairs the remedy with meal-timing and simple habit corrections that make results hold.

Every case begins with a detailed first consultation — unhurried by design, because the depth of case-taking is what makes the prescription precise. Follow-ups then track your response and refine the treatment as you improve.
